Yunnan Fulvetta

The Yunnan fulvetta, scientifically classified as Alcippe fratercula, is a small passerine bird primarily native to the montane forests of southwestern China and parts of Southeast Asia. Historically categorized within the larger family of ground babblers, this species was long considered a subspecies of the spectacled fulvetta until taxonomic revisions based on vocalization and plumage patterns established it as a distinct species. Its existence reflects the high level of avian biodiversity found in the Himalayan foothills and the complex evolutionary history of species diversification within the Sino-Himalayan region.
