Adult Coloring Book - Henna

The Henna adult coloring book, authored by Cotton Kitten and published in 2018, emerged during the height of the adult coloring book phenomenon that saw significant popularity throughout the mid-2010s. Created as an independently published work, it reflects the trend of boutique illustrators catering to the demand for intricate, meditative patterns inspired by traditional Middle Eastern and South Asian henna art. These designs were intentionally crafted to provide a therapeutic outlet for adults seeking stress relief through repetitive, detail-oriented creative activity.

The design philosophy behind this volume centers on the geometric and floral motifs characteristic of mendhi body art. The illustrations were curated to balance density and white space, allowing users to experiment with varying color palettes while adhering to the symmetry inherent in the subject matter. As an independent release, it fits into the broader ecosystem of self-published therapeutic art books that gained traction via online marketplaces, prioritized for their accessibility and thematic focus on mindfulness.
