Ansel Adams at 100 : A Postcard Folio Book

Released in 2001 by the Ansel Adams Publishing Rights Trust, this folio was conceived as a centennial celebration of the photographer's birth. It functions as a collection of high-quality, perforated postcards featuring some of Adams's most iconic landscapes, such as his studies of Yosemite National Park and the American West. The objective was to provide an accessible medium for enthusiasts to share or display these seminal black-and-white compositions, maintaining the technical integrity of his original gelatin silver prints in a compact format.

The publication drew upon the vast archival work of Adams, who remained a central figure in 20th-century American photography for his advocacy of environmental conservation and his technical perfectionism through the Zone System. The design reflects a minimalist approach intended to prioritize the clarity and depth of the photography itself. Upon its release, the folio was well-received by critics and photography historians as a respectful, portable retrospective that honored Adams’s enduring legacy and his mastery of light and shadow.
