Constructing Ambient Intelligence

Constructing Ambient Intelligence was published in 2012 as part of the Springer series on Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments. Edited by Reiner Wichert, the volume serves as a technical anthology documenting the transition of ubiquitous computing from theoretical research into practical, systems-level implementation. It was compiled during a period when the integration of sensors, intelligent interfaces, and adaptive environments was rapidly moving from academic laboratories into commercial and industrial application.

The design of the work reflects the standard academic presentation of the Springer publishing house, emphasizing clarity and structural rigor to accommodate complex research findings. It gathers contributions from experts in the field to outline methodologies for building systems that can sense and respond to human presence. The book was aimed at researchers and system engineers, receiving recognition within the computer science community as a consolidated reference for the architectural challenges of ambient intelligence systems at the time of their early maturation.
