Dennis Flanders' Britannia

Dennis Flanders' Britannia, published in 1984 by Oriel Press, represents a culmination of the artist's lifelong dedication to topographical illustration. Flanders was a renowned architectural artist, best known for his meticulous, atmospheric renderings of British landmarks and urban vistas. This collection serves as a visual record of the built environment, capturing the character of various historic sites across the United Kingdom through his signature pen-and-ink style.

The volume reflects the aesthetic sensibilities of a traditionalist illustrator who favored precision and architectural integrity. Flanders aimed to document the vanishing heritage of British landscapes, often focusing on structures that faced decay or modernization. Upon its release, the book was well-received by those interested in architectural history and traditional illustration, cementing Flanders' reputation as one of the most reliable and prolific chroniclers of 20th-century British architecture.
