Die Gottesvorstellung im Markusevangelium

Published by Walter de Gruyter in 2004, this academic monograph by Gudrun Guttenberger serves as a rigorous investigation into the theological portrait of God as presented in the Gospel of Mark. It emerged from the rigorous traditions of German biblical scholarship, aiming to decode the narrative techniques and underlying Christological motifs that define Markan theology. The work is deeply embedded in the context of 21st-century historical-critical exegesis, providing a focused textual analysis that seeks to reconcile the Gospel's literary structure with its intended depiction of the divine.

The design and scholarly architecture of the book reflect the standard academic presentation of the de Gruyter publishing house, known for maintaining high standards in theological and philological research. Guttenberger’s approach is characterized by a methodical, systematic exploration of early Christian thought, intended for an audience of researchers and students of New Testament studies. Upon its release, it was received as a specialized contribution to the field, noted for its disciplined focus on the specific theological trajectory of the Markan narrative rather than broader, more generalized Gospel analysis.
