Die praxis der mechanischen weberei

Published in 1895 by A. Hartleben in Vienna as part of their extensive technical library series, Die Praxis der mechanischen Weberei reflects the rapid industrialization of the late 19th century textile sector. Hermann Dornig authored this volume to serve as a comprehensive manual for the mechanical weaving industry, catering to the growing need for standardized technical knowledge among factory managers and loom operators during the era of mechanized mass production.

The book is characterized by its meticulous focus on the mechanical evolution of the loom and the transition toward automated power weaving. Through detailed illustrations and technical specifications, Dornig aimed to demystify complex textile machinery for his contemporaries. The work was well-received within the industrial educational circles of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, becoming a notable reference for the engineering principles that defined the technological infrastructure of the European textile trade at the turn of the century.
