Europa-Institut Klaus Mehnert an der Universitat Klaipeda, Litauen / Klauso Mehnerto Europos Studiju Institutas Prie Klaipedos Universiteto, Lietuva

Published in 2018 by Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft, this academic volume by Winfried Böttcher serves as a scholarly documentation and tribute to the Europa-Institut Klaus Mehnert at Klaipėda University in Lithuania. The institute was established as a focal point for European studies, bridge-building between Germany and the Baltic states, and fostering academic discourse on international relations, drawing inspiration from the legacy of journalist and scholar Klaus Mehnert.

The design and content of the work reflect the rigorous standards typical of Nomos’s social science academic series. Böttcher, an expert in European politics, focuses on the institutional mission, the pedagogical objectives, and the historical necessity of maintaining a dedicated center for German-Lithuanian intellectual exchange in the post-Soviet context. Upon its release, the text was received primarily within professional academic circles as a definitive reference for those tracking the institutional development and geopolitical impact of the university’s research initiatives.
