Grand Opera House, London, Ont. , Programme [microform]

This microform publication preserves historical theatre programmes originally issued by the Grand Opera House in London, Ontario. During its peak in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the venue served as a vital cultural hub, hosting touring theatrical productions, musical performances, and vaudeville acts that traveled through Southwestern Ontario. These ephemeral print materials provide a window into the programming, advertising, and social atmosphere of the era, reflecting the commercial interests and artistic tastes of the local community.

The current edition, released by Creative Media Partners in 2021, is part of an ongoing effort to digitize and preserve archival materials for historical research. By converting these fragile paper programmes into a standardized microform or digital format, the publisher ensures that the content remains accessible to historians and archivists. The design and presentation are functional, prioritizing the fidelity of the historical text and imagery over decorative elements to facilitate academic study.
