Growing Up with Jack-Jack and Gus-Gus :

Growing Up with Jack-Jack and Gus-Gus was published in 2018 by the independent imprint Oggy Goes Shell Shopping. Written by Felicia Sais, the work is part of a niche contemporary movement in children's literature that focuses on personal narratives and the bonds between human companions and their pets. The book serves as a sentimental account of the growth and development of the subjects, reflecting the author’s intent to document the specific milestones and daily joys found in long-term animal guardianship.

The design of the book adheres to a minimalist aesthetic common in modern independent publishing, prioritizing the clarity of its narrative over complex illustrations. By focusing on the intimate reality of life with two distinct animals, Sais crafts a grounded study of domestic companionship. Upon its release, it was received primarily within independent literary circles and enthusiast communities interested in autobiographical pet memoirs, appreciated for its earnest tone and dedication to the emotional experience of pet ownership.
