Joan Brossa, Carmen Calvo

Published in 1997 by Electa, this volume serves as a comprehensive exploration of the creative synergy between the Catalan poet and visual artist Joan Brossa and the Spanish contemporary artist Carmen Calvo. Produced during a period when Brossa’s experimental, neo-Dadaist approach to visual poetry was receiving significant international retrospective attention, the book functions as a documentation of their collaborative artistic dialogues, capturing the tactile and conceptual intersection of Brossa's objects and Calvo's installations.

The design and curation of this edition reflect the aesthetic sensibilities of the late 20th-century European avant-garde, emphasizing the sculptural quality of Brossa’s work and the enigmatic, often haunting layers of Calvo’s compositions. By juxtaposing Brossa’s penchant for the unexpected arrangement of everyday items with Calvo’s interest in memory and fragmented history, the book was conceived to provide a permanent record of their joint exhibitions, aimed at scholars and enthusiasts of Spanish conceptual art who value the interplay between text and physical form.
