Kings of a Dead World

Kings of a Dead World was published by Sandstone Press in 2021, emerging during a period of heightened interest in speculative fiction that examines environmental collapse and social isolation. Author Jamie Mollart crafted the narrative as a poignant exploration of a near-future society where the population has been decimated, leaving the remaining survivors to navigate a landscape defined by silence and the weight of their own history.

The novel is noted for its meditative, character-driven approach rather than traditional genre tropes. Mollart’s design for the story focuses on the psychological toll of grief and the search for purpose in a world where the structures of modern life have dissolved. Upon its release, it was recognized for its melancholic atmosphere and its ability to ground high-concept ecological disaster in intimate, human-scale emotional stakes.
