La sculpture gothique à Tournai

Published in 2018 by Mercatorfonds, La sculpture gothique à Tournai by Ludovic Nys serves as a definitive academic survey of the sculptural heritage of Tournai, Belgium, during the late Middle Ages. The book emerged from the need to synthesize decades of specialized research into the city's role as a significant center for artistic production, particularly focusing on the distribution of its iconic black limestone works across Northern Europe.

Ludovic Nys, a recognized authority on medieval art history, crafted the text to provide both a scholarly analysis and a comprehensive visual record of these intricate gothic pieces. The volume is noted for its high-production quality, consistent with the reputation of Mercatorfonds for art historical publications, and it was received by the academic community as a critical reference work for understanding the technical evolution and stylistic nuances of Tournaisian stonework.
