Where it came from
Me ha-Shiloaḥ is a foundational Hasidic text authored by Mordecai Joseph Leiner, the founder of the Izhbitza-Radzin dynasty. First published posthumously in the mid-19th century, the work is renowned for its radical, innovative interpretation of the Torah, emphasizing the inner psychological state of the individual and the notion that divine will sometimes manifests through unconventional human actions.
The 1973 edition published by Makhon le-hotsaʼat sifre rabo reflects the continued scholarly interest in preserving these complex theological teachings for the modern Haredi community. This publication effort was part of a broader movement to disseminate classic Hasidic thought in accessible, annotated formats, ensuring that Leiner’s challenging philosophical framework remained a central pillar for students of Hasidic literature and contemporary rabbinic discourse.
