Mission among the buffalo

Mission among the buffalo was originally authored by James Ernest Nix and published in 1960. It serves as a biographical and historical account centered on the experiences of early Seventh-day Adventist missionaries working among Native American populations, specifically reflecting the mid-century evangelical interest in documenting domestic mission work. The narrative is structured to preserve the personal accounts and challenges faced by these pioneers during their time in the field.

The 2021 edition published by Creative Media Partners is part of a broader archival initiative to keep public domain or out-of-print historical texts accessible to modern readers. Because this book functions as an archival reprint, the design and presentation focus on readability and the preservation of the original text rather than artistic reinterpretation. It remains a resource for those interested in regional history and the history of religious missions in the North American West.
