Preussisch Gr un: Hofg artner in Brandenburg-Preussen. Ausstellung Schloss Glienicke, Berlin; vom 18. Juli bis 17. Oktober 2004

This exhibition catalog was produced to accompany the 2004 showcase titled 'Preußisch Grün: Hofgärtner in Brandenburg-Preußen,' held at Schloss Glienicke in Berlin. The exhibition explored the significant legacy of royal gardeners in the Prussian landscape, focusing on how these figures shaped the horticultural aesthetic of Brandenburg-Prussia under the patronage of the monarchy. It serves as both a historical record and a detailed analysis of the cultural and environmental influence these court gardeners exerted on the regional garden design traditions.

Written by Sonja Dümpelmann, a scholar recognized for her extensive research into landscape architecture and urban history, the book provides a scholarly examination of the professional status and artistic contributions of these royal gardeners. The publication was designed to reflect the historical gravitas of the subject matter, utilizing archival imagery and professional analysis to contextualize the gardens within the broader framework of 18th and 19th-century European landscape design. It remains a key reference for those interested in the history of German garden art and the professional development of the horticultural arts during the Prussian era.
