Roberto Capuzzo, Senza vera regola

Senza vera regola, published in 2018 by Gli ori, serves as a comprehensive visual survey of the work of Italian artist Roberto Capuzzo. Emerging from a long career dedicated to painting and set design, the collection was curated to document his idiosyncratic approach to composition and his recurring themes, which often blend figurative elements with abstract, gestural explorations. The title reflects the artist's philosophy, suggesting an intuitive method that prioritizes emotional resonance over rigid academic structures.

The book design emphasizes the interplay between Capuzzo’s textured canvases and the white space of the page, allowing the works to breathe. It was received as a significant retrospective for the artist, providing scholars and art enthusiasts with a structured look at his transition from theater-based scenic design to purely expressive painting. The volume has become a primary reference for those interested in contemporary Italian aesthetic movements and Capuzzo’s specific contribution to the visual arts of the early 21st century.
