R.P. Natalis Alexandri ... Historia ecclesiastica Veteris Novique Testamenti ... opera et studio Constantini Roncaglia ... accedunt praeter animadversiones A.P. Joanne Dominico Mansi.

The Historia ecclesiastica Veteris Novique Testamenti is a monumental ecclesiastical history originally composed by the French Dominican theologian Noël Alexandre, also known by his Latinized name, Natalis Alexander. First published in the late 17th century, the work was intended as a comprehensive academic record of church history, spanning from the creation of the world to the end of the 16th century. Its rigorous, albeit controversial, approach to historical criticism and the documentation of church law made it a staple in theological libraries throughout the 18th century.

This 1778 edition was published in Venice by the Remondini family, a prominent printing house known for their prolific production of religious and scholarly texts during the Enlightenment era. This iteration was updated and edited by Constantinus Roncaglia and included extensive annotations and corrections by the notable scholar Giovanni Domenico Mansi. The collaboration aimed to reconcile Alexander's original, occasionally contentious viewpoints with later ecclesiastical scholarship, presenting a refined reference work for the clergy and academic institutions of the period.
