Tempest

Tempest, written by Carey Krause and published in 2026, emerges from a contemporary landscape of independent literary fiction. As an author-published work, it reflects a shift toward direct-to-reader distribution models, allowing the creator to maintain complete control over the narrative vision and physical presentation of the text. The book serves as a focused exploration of thematic tensions, characteristic of Krause's broader body of work which often interrogates interpersonal dynamics and atmospheric settings.

The design of the volume aligns with modern minimalist aesthetic trends in independent publishing, prioritizing clean typography and a cohesive visual identity that emphasizes the book's title. Given its recent publication, the work has been received primarily within niche literary circles that follow independent releases, where it is noted for its intimate prose style and personal narrative voice. It represents a burgeoning movement of writers leveraging self-publishing platforms to bring highly specific, singular creative projects directly to their audiences without the mediation of traditional commercial houses.
