The Jesus agenda

The Jesus Agenda, authored by Albert Leonard Reyes and published by BelieversPress in 2015, emerged from a context of modern evangelical leadership and social advocacy. Reyes, serving as the president and CEO of Buckner International, wrote the work to bridge the gap between theological conviction and tangible humanitarian action. The book functions as a call to service, articulating a philosophy where the life of Jesus serves as a practical model for addressing contemporary social issues, poverty, and the needs of vulnerable populations.

The design and content of the book reflect the author's background in both ministry and organizational leadership. By framing the life of Jesus as a transformative 'agenda,' Reyes aimed to provide a blueprint for compassionate engagement rather than abstract doctrine. Upon its release, the book was received primarily within religious and non-profit circles as a devotional manual intended to mobilize faith-based organizations toward more proactive and inclusive forms of charity and community support.
