The Narratives of Don Alonso Decalves, John Van Delure, and Captain James Vanleason

The Narratives of Don Alonso Decalves, John Van Delure, and Captain James Vanleason represents an intriguing piece of early American captivity literature, first published in the late 18th century. These accounts were typical of the period, often serving as sensationalized narratives that blended genuine maritime or exploration experiences with themes of moral instruction and the cultural anxieties prevalent in colonial and post-revolutionary society.

This specific edition, published by Ye Galleon Press in 1996, is a scholarly reprint intended to preserve rare historical texts for researchers and enthusiasts of early American history.
