Where it came from
The Shaolin Grandmasters' Text was published by Tuttle Publishing in 2006 to provide a formal documentation of the teachings attributed to the lineage of Ch'an Shaolin. This volume emerged during a period of rising Western interest in traditional martial arts philosophy, serving as a repository for the theoretical and practical tenets that define the school's heritage.
The content reflects a synthesis of historical technique and spiritual methodology, intended for practitioners seeking a deeper understanding of the grandmasters' documented approach. While it is presented as a definitive guide for the lineage, its reception has primarily centered on its role as a resource for dedicated students and historians interested in the transmission of these specific martial traditions.
