Xin xing wu xiu lun

Published in 1985 by Wen jin chu ban she, Xin xing wu xiu lun was authored by Xiao'an Zhou during a period when Taiwanese publishing houses were increasingly focused on works exploring human nature and philosophical introspection. The book functions as a scholarly or semi-scholarly exploration of psychological and spiritual development, reflecting the intellectual climate of mid-1980s Taiwan, where traditional perspectives on self-cultivation were being integrated with modern analytical approaches.

The design and production of the volume are consistent with the minimalist aesthetic standard for Taiwanese academic and literary non-fiction of that era. By focusing on theoretical frameworks for personal evolution, Zhou sought to provide readers with a structured guide to character refinement. While the text remains a specialized title within the author’s bibliography, it reflects the broader cultural trend of mid-century Taiwanese literature aimed at bridging the gap between contemplative practice and contemporary intellectual discourse.
