Where it came from
Released in 2024 through the independent label L'Eglise De La Petite Folie, About Bridges represents a contemporary entry in Régis Boulard’s discography. The album serves as a reflective exploration of sonic architecture, crafted to bridge the gap between avant-garde experimentation and accessible ambient textures. Its creation was rooted in a period of minimalist studio work, focusing on layered acoustic and electronic interplay intended to evoke the structural and metaphorical qualities of its title.
The design of the packaging favors a stark, understated aesthetic that aligns with the label's commitment to prioritizing the listener's atmospheric experience. By stripping away extraneous art, Boulard and the design team aimed to focus the audience's attention entirely on the tonal qualities of the composition. Since its release, the work has been noted for its deliberate pace and serves as a testament to the label's niche focus on intimate, introspective soundscapes.
