Provenance

Where it came from

The 2006 remastered editions of Adam Ant’s discography, released through Columbia/Legacy, were part of a comprehensive archival project aimed at modernizing the sound quality of the post-punk and new wave icon's catalog. These releases were designed to capitalize on the enduring cultural footprint of the 'Antmusic' era, providing cleaner, digital-mastered versions of classic tracks for a new generation of listeners who had moved beyond analog formats.

The aesthetic direction for these reissues maintained the bold, theatrical identity of the original albums, often retaining the iconic art direction that defined Adam Ant's aesthetic in the early 1980s. Critics and fans generally received these remasters positively, as they successfully preserved the dynamic, polyrhythmic 'Burundi beat' production style while correcting the sonic limitations of original compact disc pressings from the late 1980s and 1990s.
