B[T]B Split Vol.2

The B[T]B Split Vol.2 was released in 2009 by the Japanese independent label Kick Rock Invasion as part of a series showcasing the vibrant intersection of North American pop-punk and emo with the Japanese alternative music scene. This specific volume features a split release between the American band Honor Bright and the Japanese act Hello Control!, providing a curated snapshot of the international reach of mid-2000s melodic punk aesthetics. The release served to cross-pollinate fanbases, offering listeners a blend of bright, high-energy hooks and the earnest songcraft characteristic of the era's independent scene.

The design and packaging reflect the signature minimalist, DIY-focused visual language favored by Kick Rock Invasion, which frequently utilized clean typography and simple iconography to differentiate their catalog from major label counterparts. The split format was a strategic choice common for the label, intended to foster a sense of discovery and community among collectors of international pop-punk. Upon its release, it was received as a niche but notable document of the label's commitment to bridging the gap between Western touring bands and their Japanese counterparts during a period of sustained interest in the genre.
