Dos En Uno - Ignacio Copani - Copani

Released in 1997 as part of the EMI 100 series, the Dos En Uno collection compiles select works from the Argentine singer-songwriter Ignacio Copani. During this period of his career, Copani had established himself as a prominent social commentator and folk-pop artist in Argentina, known for blending humor, irony, and political critique within his lyrics. The compilation was designed to provide a cohesive retrospective of his popular repertoire for a broader audience under the EMI label's mid-nineties catalogue expansion.

The aesthetic of the Dos En Uno series focused on simplicity and accessibility, aiming to package established tracks for listeners who were perhaps encountering his work through the high-volume distribution channels of major labels like EMI. While the disc functions primarily as a budget-friendly anthology rather than a standalone studio project, it reflects the era's industry practice of repackaging back catalogues to maintain artist presence in the retail market. It remains a notable documentation of Copani's creative output during a decade defined by significant socio-political shifts in his home country.
