Where it came from
Released in 2001 on the Madacy Entertainment Group label, this self-titled album served as an introduction to Eleanor McCain’s musical career. It emerged during a period when the label was active in producing and distributing contemporary easy-listening and vocal pop collections, positioning McCain within a genre that prioritized smooth arrangements and emotive vocal performances.
The album reflects a traditional approach to production, emphasizing acoustic clarity and a clear, melodic delivery intended to highlight the artist’s vocal range. While the release established her presence in the Canadian music scene, it was received primarily within the context of the adult contemporary market, setting the stage for her later shift toward more specialized projects in the classical crossover and orchestral genres.
