Where it came from
Released in 2015, this self-titled compilation brought together the best work of the French-American trio formed by Jean-Jacques Goldman, Carole Fredericks, and Michael Jones. The group initially formed in 1990, emerging from a desire to blend Goldman's pop-rock sensibility with Fredericks' gospel-infused vocal power and Jones' folk-rock guitar roots. The collection serves as a retrospective of their highly successful collaborative period, which defined a specific era of French popular music throughout the 1990s.
The album was curated by Sony Music to provide a comprehensive look at the trio's catalog, featuring hits that highlighted their distinct three-part harmony and cross-cultural appeal. While the group disbanded as a formal entity in the mid-1990s, the design and selection of this 2015 reissue reflect the enduring popularity of their collaborative spirit. It was well-received by fans seeking a polished, definitive document of the unique synergy the three musicians shared before their individual solo paths diverged further.
