Where it came from
Released in 2016 under the Casa Lavica Records label, Grayscaleye stands as a singular project within the artist's discography. The album emerged during a period of experimentation for the label, which sought to bridge the gap between atmospheric soundscapes and traditional electronic structures, offering a deliberate sonic contrast to more commercially driven releases of the mid-2010s.
The aesthetic design of the physical CD packaging leans heavily into the minimalist sensibilities prevalent in independent electronic music of that era. By utilizing stark, monochromatic visuals to mirror the album title, the design was intended to evoke a sense of detachment and introspection, encouraging listeners to focus entirely on the auditory experience provided by the artist's complex layering of textures.
