Hot Club De Norvege Featuring Ola Kvernberg & Jimmy Rosenberg

Released in 2000 on the Hot Club Records label, this album captures a collaboration between the long-standing Norwegian Gypsy jazz ensemble Hot Club de Norvège and two prodigious young talents, violinist Ola Kvernberg and guitarist Jimmy Rosenberg. The project emerged from the group's ongoing mission to preserve and innovate the musical legacy of Django Reinhardt, providing a bridge between established masters and the rising generation of virtuoso performers in the manouche tradition.

The album serves as a showcase for the technical brilliance of Rosenberg, whose improvisational style is heavily influenced by his Romani heritage, and Kvernberg, whose intricate violin work balances traditional swing rhythms with a modern sensibility. The design and production are focused on maintaining a clean, acoustic-forward sound characteristic of the label's commitment to the genre, and it was generally received by enthusiasts as a vibrant, essential recording that highlighted the vitality of the European gypsy jazz scene at the turn of the millennium.
