Where it came from
Released in 2009 by Fonovisa Records, Jenni serves as a pivotal entry in Jenni Rivera’s extensive discography. Following her established success in the regional Mexican music scene, this album solidified her reputation as the 'Diva de la Banda.' The production was crafted to highlight her powerful vocal delivery and her ability to weave deeply personal, emotive narratives that resonated with a broad international audience.
The album reflects a polished transition into a more contemporary sound while staying rooted in traditional banda and mariachi instrumentation. Rivera worked closely with her production team to ensure the arrangements complemented the raw honesty of her songwriting. Upon its release, the project was received with significant critical and commercial success, further cementing her status as a cultural icon and one of the most influential figures in Latin music at the time.
