Provenance

Where it came from

Released in 2014 under the Dizzare Add label, this eponymous collection represents a later-career project for Jenny Burton, a vocalist widely respected for her significant influence on the 1980s dance and Hi-NRG club scenes. Following her earlier success with tracks like 'Remember What You Like,' this release serves as a reflection of her enduring presence in the industry, maintaining the soulful, powerhouse vocal style that defined her work with producers like John 'Jellybean' Benitez.

The production and design of this release aimed to capture the polished, contemporary R&B and dance-pop aesthetic typical of independent projects emerging in the early 2010s. While it did not reach the mainstream charts that bolstered her mid-80s career, the collection was received by critics and long-time fans as a testament to her vocal consistency and technical skill, serving primarily as an archival-style release for followers of her specific brand of New York City club music.
