Where it came from
Released in 2020 by Valve Records, this collaborative album brought together German blues guitarist Jens Filser, known for his work with the Organic Blues Project, and the acclaimed American jazz and blues vocalist Brenda Boykin. The project serves as a testament to the bridge between traditional blues sensibilities and modern, organic arrangements, aiming to capture the spontaneity and raw emotion of a live performance within a studio setting.
The collaboration showcases Filser’s understated, masterful fretwork complementing Boykin’s deep, resonant vocal delivery, which has been a staple in the international jazz scene for years.
