介錯 [Kai-Shaku]

Released in 2015 on the Sangeki Records label, 'Kai-Shaku' serves as a definitive artifact of the Harakiri Culture project. Emerging from a niche corner of the Japanese underground music scene, the album is characterized by its stark, abrasive aesthetic, which draws heavily from themes of traditional ritual, existential decay, and transgressive performance art. The release reflects the label's commitment to documenting extreme subcultures that challenge mainstream sensibilities through visceral sonic textures.

The visual design and sonic composition were executed to evoke a sense of inevitable conclusion, fitting the literal translation of the title. By pairing minimalist, industrial-leaning compositions with provocative imagery, the creators sought to interrogate the tension between historical cultural practices and modern nihilism. Upon its release, the work was received primarily within experimental and noise-music circles, where it was noted for its uncompromising atmosphere and deliberate lack of commercial accessibility.
