Noise Level

Released in 2016 on the Voxxov Records label, Noise Level represents a specific entry in the discography of French composer and sound artist Gaëtan Gromer. Gromer is widely recognized for his work bridging the gap between sound art, installation, and experimental electronic music. This project emerged from his ongoing interest in the tactile and physical qualities of sound, designed to challenge the listener's perception of acoustic space and industrial rhythm.

The album serves as a culmination of Gromer’s stylistic exploration during that period, reflecting a minimalist and often clinical approach to composition. By utilizing field recordings blended with synthetic manipulation, Gromer sought to construct a sonic environment that prioritized texture and structural tension over traditional melody. The work was received within avant-garde circles as a coherent piece of sound design, noted for its precise production and its ability to function both as an immersive listening experience and as a conceptual backdrop for multimedia art.
