One

One emerged in 2021 as a collaborative effort between French musician Olivier Mellano, drummer Régis Boulard, and the performance collective NO&RD. The project serves as an exploration of minimalist soundscapes and repetitive musical structures, drawing heavily from contemporary avant-garde traditions. Released through Unifaun Productions, the album was conceived as a sonic bridge between experimental percussion and ambient guitar arrangements, intended to capture a sense of spatial resonance rather than traditional song architecture.

The design and conceptual framework reflect the artistic sensibilities of the contributors, who sought to strip back instrumental excess to focus on the textures of sound. Mellano, known for his work across classical and rock genres, worked alongside Boulard to create a project that prioritizes atmospheric tension and gradual sonic shifts. Upon its release, the record was categorized within the experimental niche, noted by critics for its deliberate pacing and the stark, clean production quality provided by the Unifaun label.
