Where it came from
Plan B was released in 2021 as a sophomore project for the Kevin Brady Electric Quartet on the Ubuntu Music label. The album reflects a shift toward a more modern, fusion-oriented sound, moving away from traditional acoustic jazz structures to incorporate elements of electronic soundscapes and groove-based rhythms that defined the quartet's experimental period.
The album was designed to capture the interplay between Brady’s percussion and the ensemble’s evolving use of synthesizers and textures. Recorded during a period of creative transition for the group, the project was well-received by jazz critics for its atmospheric depth and the technical proficiency of the band members, solidifying their reputation within the contemporary European jazz scene.
