Where it came from
Released in 2015 on the GO' Danish Folk Music label, Slid Din Tid represents a collaborative exploration of traditional Danish folk music. The project brings together the instrumental duo of Jensen & Bugge—comprising accordionist Mette Jensen and violinist Kristian Bugge—alongside the guitarist and vocalist Morten Alfred Høirup. The album focuses on the art of storytelling through melody, breathing new life into historical compositions and regional dance tunes that have defined the Danish folk tradition for generations.
The production sought to capture an intimate, acoustic soundscape that emphasizes the interplay between the trio’s respective instruments. By blending the rhythmic drive of Jensen & Bugge's signature style with Høirup’s nuanced arrangements, the album aimed to present a contemporary bridge to the past. It was well-received within the European folk community for its technical precision and its role in keeping the regional cultural heritage of Denmark accessible to modern listeners.
