Théorie D'Amour

Théorie D'Amour was released in 1997 on the Moradisc label, emerging during a period when the label was actively cultivating a roster of French-language pop and chanson artists. Willy Ververt, a singer-songwriter known for his earnest and melodic approach, recorded this project to capture a specific sentiment of romantic introspection that resonated with the francophone adult contemporary scene of the late nineties.

The album reflects the production aesthetics common to mid-nineties French pop, emphasizing clear, string-forward arrangements and smooth, emotive vocal tracking. While the record did not achieve widespread international mainstream chart success, it remains a notable example of Ververt’s discography and the stylistic priorities of independent labels operating in the European market at the time, focusing on atmospheric compositions intended for intimate listening.
