Vibes Trio

The Vibes Trio album emerged from the fertile Italian jazz scene of the early 2000s, released under the Via Veneto Jazz label. This project brought together an ensemble of highly regarded Italian musicians, specifically vibraphonist Francesco Lo Cascio alongside bassist Giovanni Tommaso, drummer Roberto Gatto, and saxophonist Stefano Di Battista. The recording serves as a sophisticated exploration of post-bop sensibilities, highlighting the interplay between Lo Cascio’s melodic phrasing and the rhythmic foundation laid by Tommaso and Gatto.

The album reflects the label's commitment to showcasing the depth of contemporary European jazz talent. By pairing established veterans with the expressive, fluid saxophone work of Di Battista, the production aimed to bridge traditional acoustic jazz structures with a modern, lyrical aesthetic. It was received by critics as a clean, technically proficient contribution to the Mediterranean jazz lineage, appreciated for its intimate recording quality and the seamless technical execution typical of these musicians’ collaborative works.
