2000 AD #2486

2000 AD is a long-running British science fiction anthology comic that first appeared in 1977, known for its irreverent tone and its role in launching the careers of influential creators like Alan Moore and Grant Morrison. Issue 2486, published in 2024, continues the publication's tradition of presenting weekly serialized stories, headlined by its flagship character, Judge Dredd. The series remains a cornerstone of British comics, characterized by its dystopian themes and satirical commentary on authority and society.

The design and aesthetic of 2000 AD have evolved over decades, balancing high-concept sci-fi narratives with a distinctive house style that often features stark, black-and-white interior art paired with vibrant, detailed cover illustrations. Issue 2486 reflects the modern era of the anthology, which maintains a dedicated following by blending legacy characters like Dredd with experimental, creator-owned stories. It is regarded by collectors as an enduring example of independent-minded comics publishing that has successfully adapted to the digital age while preserving its distinctively cynical and fast-paced editorial identity.
