A Quiet Place: Storm Warning #1

A Quiet Place: Storm Warning #1 was published by Dark Horse Comics in 2024 as a prequel expansion to the cinematic universe established by the Paramount Pictures film series. The miniseries was designed to bridge narrative gaps in the franchise's timeline, specifically focusing on the initial arrival of the extraterrestrial creatures and the immediate collapse of global infrastructure. By grounding the story in the early days of the invasion, the creative team sought to capture the visceral, immediate terror of a silent world where sound-based predation became the primary existential threat.

The creative direction for this series leaned heavily into the visual language of the films, prioritizing stark, high-contrast imagery to evoke the tension and isolation inherent to the franchise. Writers and artists involved in the project worked to maintain the strict internal logic of the series, where silence serves as both a plot device and a thematic anchor. Upon its release, the comic was received by fans of the films as a thoughtful extension of the mythos, lauded for its ability to translate the suspense of a feature film into the static, graphic format of the medium.
