A Sign of Affection Omnibus #4

A Sign of Affection, known in Japan as Yubisaki to Renren, is a manga series authored by the duo known as suu Morishita. It began serialization in Kodansha's Dessert magazine in 2019. The story follows Yuki Itose, a deaf university student, and her evolving relationship with Itsuomi Nagi, a multilingual classmate. The omnibus editions were produced to collect the serial chapters into more substantial volumes for international readers, reflecting the series' popularity and its focus on themes of communication, accessibility, and sincere human connection.

The character designs and visual aesthetic were crafted by the team at suu Morishita, who are widely praised for their delicate, emotive art style. By utilizing soft lines and nuanced facial expressions, the illustrators effectively convey the non-verbal cues essential to a story centered on a sign language user. Upon its release, the series received significant critical acclaim, winning the Best Shojo Manga award at the 47th Kodansha Manga Awards, a recognition that bolstered the decision to release these omnibus collections for broader distribution.
