Action Comics Weekly #632

Action Comics Weekly #632 was published in 1989 as part of an experimental anthology format that briefly transformed the long-running Superman title. During this period, DC Comics shifted the publication from a standard monthly comic to a weekly serialized magazine, featuring multiple rotating story arcs per issue to maintain interest in a more compressed release schedule. This specific issue features a chapter of the Green Lantern story written by James Owsley, later known as Christopher Priest, and illustrated by M.D. Bright.

The editorial intent behind the weekly format was to revitalize DC's legacy titles with a fast-paced, episodic structure that drew inspiration from newspaper adventure strips. While the experiment offered a platform for diverse characters like The Phantom Stranger and Blackhawk, it was ultimately viewed as a transitional era for the brand. By the time of this issue’s release, the format was nearing its conclusion as DC prepared to return the publication to its traditional monthly Superman-focused roots.
