Adventure Comics #146

Adventure Comics #146, published in November 1949 by National Comics Publications, represents the post-war era of Golden Age superhero storytelling. By this time, the series had evolved significantly from its 1930s origins as a general adventure anthology, shifting its focus toward the growing popularity of super-powered characters, most notably Superboy, who anchored the book during this period.

The cover and interior stories reflect the house style of the late 1940s, featuring the foundational work of artists and writers under the editorial guidance of Mort Weisinger. During this cycle, the creative teams focused on accessible, episodic tales designed to appeal to adolescent readers, cementing the title's reputation as a staple of the DC Comics lineup and a key piece of the company's historical output during the transition toward the Silver Age.
