Akuyaku Reijō wa Scenario wo Shiranai: Otome Game no Sekai de Shinjitsu no Koi wo Sagashimasu! #1

Akuyaku Reijō wa Scenario wo Shiranai: Otome Game no Sekai de Shinjitsu no Koi wo Sagashimasu! began as a light novel series written by Ichiho Inui before being adapted into manga form. The narrative sits within the popular 'villainess' subgenre of isekai fiction, which subverts tropes of otome game storytelling by casting the designated antagonist as the protagonist, often tasked with navigating and surviving the rigid social and narrative structures of her own world.

The first volume of the manga adaptation, illustrated by Yasuhiro Miyama, was produced to expand the reach of Inui’s original light novel series to a visual medium. The design prioritizes the aesthetic hallmarks of shojo and josei manga, focusing on elaborate period-inspired costumes and expressive character designs that reflect the dramatic tension of the genre. Upon its release, it was received as a solid entry in the crowded market of villainess titles, noted primarily for its adherence to the core appeal of romantic intrigue and character development within a predetermined destiny.
