Albi dell'Intrepido #1356

Albi dell'Intrepido was a foundational publication in the history of Italian comics, produced by Casa Editrice Universo starting in the 1930s. The series was designed to provide affordable, accessible adventure stories to a broad Italian audience, often featuring a rotating cast of characters and serialized narratives that spanned multiple issues. Issue number 1356 represents the established, long-running format of the series, which focused on a blend of action, melodrama, and moralistic storytelling typical of the post-war Italian pulp tradition.

The design and visual language of this issue reflect the house style of Casa Editrice Universo, which prioritized clear, high-contrast black-and-white illustrations and dynamic, serial-style cover art intended to catch the eye on newsstands. The creative output for the series was produced by a dedicated stable of artists and writers working under tight deadlines. While individual issues were rarely treated as high-art artifacts at the time of their creation, they are now documented as significant cultural touchstones for their role in shaping the literary habits of several generations of Italian readers.
