All-Star Comics #11

Published by All-American Publications in the summer of 1942, All-Star Comics #11 represents a pivotal moment during the Golden Age of comic books. This issue is notable for being the first to feature the Justice Society of America after the team's official inception in the previous issue, solidifying the concept of a shared superhero universe. It served as a vital piece of wartime escapism, bringing together iconic figures like The Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkman to tackle threats both domestic and supernatural during the height of the Second World War.

The cover and interior illustrations reflect the house style of the All-American stable, which prioritized dynamic, action-oriented layouts typical of the era's editorial direction. While the creative team was a collective effort, the stories were guided by the vision of editor Sheldon Mayer, who aimed to foster a sense of continuity among the publisher's various titles. The issue was received well by contemporary readers, who were increasingly drawn to the novelty of seeing their favorite solo heroes interact within a unified team narrative.
