Alles Rudi #1

Alles Rudi #1 emerged in 1993 as the inaugural volume of a German-language comic series centered on the popular cartoon character Rudi, created by the animator and cartoonist Peter Puck. The series was developed to expand upon the episodic, humorous stories of Rudi, an anthropomorphic dog living in Berlin, which had previously found success in various magazines and animated shorts. This issue established the foundational tone for the series, blending urban social commentary with slapstick comedy that resonated with the German underground comic scene of the early nineties.

The visual design of the series is rooted in a clean, expressive style that characterizes Peter Puck's work, prioritizing fluid character animation principles applied to the comic page. By focusing on the eccentricities of Berlin life, the creative team sought to capture a specific cultural moment in post-reunification Germany. Upon its release, Alles Rudi was well-received by fans of independent comics for its relatable protagonists and sharp wit, eventually cementing its status as a cult classic within the German graphic literature landscape.
